jfroebe has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi,

While we would like to believe that Perl is good at everything, there are some things that it does poorly or not at all. In order to avoid wasting time on writing scripts to do a task that Perl is ill suited for, what are some of the things that you wouldn't use perl for?

My list

Task
1.heavy i/o tasks or tasks that would require async i/o
2.realtime operations
3.tasks that would require timely signal handling (sigalrm for example)
4.closed source applications

Any others?
