Curses Scrollable TextViewer

emilford has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for in the Curses documentation. I've built a TextViewer (currently an Editor, actually) that I would like to make scrollable. I see that you can add scrollbars to the top and bottom; I've done that, but do you still have to use the arrow keys to move around the text box? I would like the text box to be scrollable as it's updated with lines of text, but as of now, the best I have is that the user can arrow key through the text after the script has finished running. Any help would be appreciated.
