really sorry if this was alerady posted, but a quick SuperSearch didn't find anything...
I just found out that Larry won the OSI Open Source Award 2004/Q3:
Larry Wall is best known for the Perl programming language,
but this award also honors his contribution of the program
patch which stimulated Open Source Software development by
enabling multiple people to contribute small changes to
software in an efficient and elegant manner.

    Congrats to St. Larry Wall, he's certainly very deserving of the accolade. A few months ago I put up some Larry Wall quotes on a website that I could show to my coworkers, he has a quirky outlook on life that I really appreciate.

    On a somewhat related note, if anyone has any good Larry Wall (or other Perl-related) quotes feel free to e-mail them to me (try the contact address at biosysadmin.com). I'm always looking for more snippets of wisdom. :)
