If PM was to add a section devoted to system then it would eventually be force to add a section for CGI, then Templates, then File I/O, then looping, then data types, then ....
Despite PM not having this feature, and not needing to be bloated by it (IMHO), perldoc does. perldoc -f <funtion_name> will give the docs on most any function and perldoc -q <search_term> will cover a lot of the rest. So maybe what we really need is a section that has a single tutorial on how to use perldoc ;).
Update: I was kidding people. I don't think the monastery needs a section on perldoc, though if you look in Tutorials it already semi-exists.

HEAR, HEAR!
Not that it'd do much good because there's gobs of lazy people who'd still not bother to look up basic information before posting, of course. But if there were a way of making people read something along those lines and one of the "How to ask questions" threads before they could submit their first question it might cut down on some of the inanity.

Well, perhaps it would help a lot to have a logical tree built with answers to basic questions about the problem, starting with the simplest questions (just like M$'s problem solver). Every answer would lead to another desission question and other useful links if the questions stop at some point.
Then, a last answer link would lead to asking at the forum if there is some trouble with the questions or if the problem was not envisioned at the logical tree...

Well, there is perldoc system, and of course your node. ,-)

Should be perldoc -f system

hi barun,
I think, system command is not a very big topic to justify another section.

Or did you actually mean how to use system commands?
If anyone has no other UNIX machine but their webserver, and no shell access, you can find man pages at the link above.
