Low node id

I am just wondering what the nodes with the lower ids contain. I was curious to see what this community was at the very beginning, but I suspect that I've hit some housekeeping pages.

(Maybe these pages are in some secret library which should not be nosed by a bare novice... :)

Do the old numbers stay the same? Or have any of them been re-assigned if they are unused. And what happens to the reaped nodes, do the ids expire after a time?

Questions that I never thought of before ... maybe some funny things to explore in the 'catacombs', if one had the time and really cared anyway.
