Since I've been registered here, there seems to be more interest in my login name than my "contributions".
It's simply a contraction of my name (peter allen) which just happens to fall phonetically between the volatile 'petrol' and the pelagic 'petrel' .
("Our own Dominus", among others, observes that not all petrels are stormy.)
(The only place you can't throw your garbage is away.)
