That would require farming tasks out to subprocesses and getting the information back again. Work, work, work. And to get the answers back in more or less constant time would require spawning a lot of kids. I don't want to go down that path. With POE, it all takes place in the one process. - another intruder with the mooring in the heart of the Perl
