in reply to New PDL problem on Windows XP SP2

The error is NMAKE : fatal error U1095: expanded command line '@ ***snip*** too long

Its a problem with MakeMaker. MakeMaker 6.26 is known to work.

I run a Win32 PPM repository for perl 5.6.x and 5.8.x -- I take requests (README).

      How about you try MakeMaker-6.26?

        Hi PodMaster,

        Rob gave me the sollution.
Parently the fault lies with nmake.
The version I downloaded seperately was not ok. I had to use the version supplied by Microsoft Platform SDK. Than it compiled ok (if I turn off slatec support).

        Thanks for the advice.
