Another reason to love Perl is that isn't necessary to be a fluent english speaker to program.

As someone who has to maintain code for a living, let me be the first to say that that is NOT a good thing!!! :-( ;-( :-(

    That depends on how much you want to work for your living...
      Doing unnecessary work because my co-workers can't learn to talk, read, or write is hardly a productive use of my time.

      I pay out a huge amount of taxes to ensure that everyone who works in this country is well educated, far beyond basic literacy skills. It's not working; people then just waltz in from foreign countries, and claim to be programmers. They can barely stammer out a sentence at a grade three level, but they get hired to support governnment "diversity" inititives. And then I have to guess what the hell they were trying to say, because they didn't bother to learn to speak at an adult literacy level before they came here, claiming to be my "equal".

      It's frustrating. :-(
