I found installing Strawberry Perl to be straightforward. I had a little bit of confusion as to where it had been installed initially. I haven't put SP through any heavy duty work but programs that I had built and run using ActiveState have worked fine for me. I wrote up this post using an early version of
Grandfather's PM oriented editor running SP.
BTW, my machine is available to run the CPAN Tester's installation mentioned over at
Strawberry Perl CPAN Testers. Last I heard this was still a work in progress. Let me know if it is ready to go and I'd be happy to participate. IMO, it will be good to have an alternative to ActiveState for Windows use.
