It's nice to have a language that's easy to get into and has the great support that Perl does. Echoing another reply, PerlMonks. Also it's nice to be able to write "Hello world" without needing lots of extra bits or creating lots of objects and the like. I suppose it come down to Perl doing what I want and need for the jobs I have to complete.
