    C'est une chose à discuter contre moi, il est un autre pour effacer le fait comme 'plaisanterie '. Je faisais les remarques valides. Cessez maintenant de trolling svp.

    I have encrypted the above text for Not_a_Number to prevent other monks from reading it and down-voting me further; it is also probably easier for him to read. I take exp seriously.

    1. While Not_a_Number's homenode states that his location is "Paris, usually", this is not a sufficent condition to imply that he's actually french, nor that he speaks French, although both seem highly probable;
    2. you have not "encrypted the above", just written it in French, it seems;
    3. whatever the reason you did so, it does not take a genuine french person to "decrypt" it. Indeed as far from perfect as it may be Google's translator yielded the following for me:
      It is a thing to be discussed against me, it is another to erase the fact like 'joke'. I made the valid remarks. Cease trolling now please.

    While the above is not perfect English, it's easy enough for one to parse it, and probably better than some human-written prose one can occasionally read here and elsewhere. Not_a_Number is certainly not the one that is trolling, and that has to stop doing so. In fact either is he actually convinced that yours is a joke, as someone else appearently is, or he's dismissing it as one, which is IMHO appropriate, given that the post originating this thread is so full of inaccurate claims and statements, and expresses a now common to hear but so damn annoying point of vies that simply has nothing to do with facts.

    If you really have made "valid remarks", then please support them by replying to those who made valid criticism to show that they're actually inconsistent. Prove them, us, wrong. If you can...

    I don't know about anyone else but I downvoted this for the assumption that I couldn't read French.

    /J\

      gellyfish, I'm downvoting it not because I can read french (because I can't), but because the assumption is made that I can't paste it over to $translator_du_jour.

      So is the above french well-formed, or does this parse just as well?

      C'est une chose pour parler la défectuosité de moi, il est un autre pour m'écarter comme une « plaisanterie ». J'ai fait des remarques valides. Cesser de trolling, svp.

    "I have encrypted the above text for Not_a_Number to prevent other monks from reading it and down-voting me further; it is also probably easier for him to read. I take exp seriously."

    Looks like your plan has backfired some what.

    First of all, stop taking XP seriously? Can you exchange it for goods or services anywhere? Or donate it to a charity? Not that I know of, so why bother taking it seriously? What I take seriously around here is the comments, advice and criticism from my fellow monks. Have you read The Role of XP in PerlMonks? Secondly, in what way is writing something in another language a form of encryption?

      Don't you think that he might have really meant. "I know full well that just about anyone will be able to read this, but as I don't really give a monkey's about XP, what the hell...but it'll be amusing to see people taking my words seriously."?

      Examine what is said, not who speaks -- Silence betokens consent -- Love the truth but pardon error.
      Lingua non convalesco, consenesco et abolesco. -- Rule 1 has a caveat! -- Who broke the cabal?
      "Science is about questioning the status quo. Questioning authority".
      In the absence of evidence, opinion is indistinguishable from prejudice.
        It is possible that he might have really meant many things, rather than comment on what he may have wanted to say I commented on what he did say. Since the written word is open to interpretation it is possible that he meant many things, perhaps you are right, or perhaps he did not mean what you have taken from his post.

    For the French-defficient and for those distrustful of automated translators, the above reads

    It's one thing to debate me. It's another to dismiss my argument as a joke. I was making valid remarks. Please cease your trolling immediately.
