I use pc-bsd on (one of my) home desktops. I've used suse in the past, and was reasonably satisfied. I'd say you've a much easier time getting a Linux distro that would be easy to install on a desktop than a laptop(the same applies to any of the *BSD variants). emc At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well.
