That said, I'm happy with Ubuntu. I used Debian before and was happy with that, too. I had no installation pains with Debian the last few years, except for my printer (works perfectly with Ubuntu). I went to Debian from Red Hat/Suse because of too many problems with rpm, but that is probably solved by now. I've always planned to try out the BSD variants, but never had free disk when I had free time.
