Wow! Great node. ++! I must admit I was quite verklempt when I got 404'd when trying to follow the original link to the Guttman paper. Thanks for the update, aufflick.

BTW, lhoward, you should write for wikipedia. I have looked at material about sorting algorithms and I have not seen a more concise explanation anywhere (wikipedia or elsewhere).

I like computer programming because it's like Legos for the mind.
