I don't know why that's "much better" It's almost certainly easier on the database, in terms of load. Being a reply to another node would be a dedicated field in the table, so no string pattern match would be required. Sanity? Oh, yeah, I've got all kinds of sanity. In fact, I've developed whole new kinds of sanity. You can just call me "Mister Sanity". Why, I've got so much sanity it's driving me crazy.
