regexes
Not much exciting to say... I've been using Perl since the late 1990's. (Well, on and off since then.) Started using it to handle sysadmin tasks on the mail servers at the university. I do not consider myself a professional programmer because I don't spend 100% of my time at work programming and there is so much that I still don't know (or understand).

I do enjoy learning as much as I can though... :-)

So why did I choose <i>regexes</i> as my user name? Simply because I find regular expressions great.

I get around with regexes on an intermediate level but am always on the lookout as to where else I can implement them. There are some flags, options, etc.. which I have not had the opportunity to try yet. ;-)
Besides <a href="http://perldoc.perl.org/perlretut.html">perlretut</a> and <a href="http://perldoc.perl.org/perlre.html">perlre</a>, I found the <a href="http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/regex/">Mastering Regular Expressions</a> book to be informative.
