Thank you very much for this. We downloaded the backpan version from 2000-03-19, applied your patch, and it actually compiled with 5.10 and the tests ran successfully.

It turns out, however, that this version is way too old to help us, because our application uses callbacks, a feature that was apparently added to Win32::Daemon on 2001-02-24.

We were using a binary from 2003, but I haven't been able to locate the source for that. The closest one seems to be at: ftp://ftp.roth.net/pub/ntperl/Daemon/20020606/Source/daemon_Source.zip We are working on that right now. It appears that we need to add `#define ENABLE_CALLBACKS` [download]	[reply] [d/l]

I've built that version and it loads and prints it's version number without crashing. Do you have a (preferably minimal) testcase you could share?
