I'm not 100% sure about this, but it would seem that PerlMonth is dead for good, despite rumours of a rebirth a few months ago.

There's very good content there, and it would be a shame if it were to be left there to die as the url drifts into oblivion,and the site eventually gets pulled down. I think that maybe it would make sense to move that content to PM, perhaps in the Tutorials section.

If this seems valuable to people on this side, I'd be happy to contact the maintainer and the authors over there to ask what they think of it, and if the content can be moved.

    Well, if they agreed to the idea, I think it would be great if the quality is there. It would be a shame to see that information go to waste, though vroom is really the person who should weigh in on that. Anyone like their work?

    Amusingly, when I clicked the link, the banner add on the site read "Got dead links?" How appropriate :)

    I looked at davorg's home node and realized he wrote a column for this magazine. Perhaps that would make him a good resource to:
    a) find out if perlmonth is defunct?
    b) could we use the tutorials on perlmonks?

      Last I heard from the PerlMonth people, I was supposed to be writing an article for LinuxMonth. When I was late (as usual) and I didn't get chased on it I assumed they weren't quite as ready to relaunch as they'd thought.

      I'll get in touch with them and see if I can find out what the story is.

        So I exchanged a couple of emails with the editor of PerlMonth. He says that PerlMonth isn't anywhere near as dead as we think it is and that we should expect to see new stuff appear real soon now.

        btw - my 600th node in the Monastery!

    I didn't even know about PerlMonth.
    I just signed up for the monthly newsletter. I'm lucky I have you guys to point out the good stuff!

    I wonder if they (PerlMonth maintainers) would consider putting perlmonks in their Links section?

      Yes, it's a good thing they're coming back online. I'm sure they wouldn't mind linking, it's just a matter of asking them.
