<p>Reading Perl documentation, books and articles, I always like the way its writers are not averse to humour. It may come from its <a href="http://www.netinteraction.com/rhl/960723.htm">Unix</a> <a href="http://www.geekoftheday.com/geek-jokes/classic-geek-jokes-funny-unix-commands.html">roots</a> and <a href="http://www.catb.org/~esr/jargon/">hackers humour</a> but its spirit is well maintained. The humour that is evident in every corner (including <a href="http://www.perlmonks.org/?node=The%20Monastery%20Gates">here</a>), clearly shows that everyone in the Perl community take themselves very seriously.</p><!-- Node text goes above.
