I was sure there was a jar of marmite around here somewhere. Someone must have tossed it out. Never mind.

On the nutritional information panel marmite has a substantially higher sugar content than Vegemite. They are otherwise similar nutritionally. The extra sugar does of course make marmite much too sweet to be a real contender for a food of champions. ;)

    Finally got round to checking this morning---neither Martmite nor Vegemite list sugar in their ingredients, and Marmite has Carbohydrate (of which sugars) of 1.1g/100g to Vegemite's 1.4g/100g.

      British or New Zealand variety? I understand they are quite different products and it is certinally the New Zealand variety I am (slightly) familiar with. According to Sanitarium's Marmite nutritional information the New Zealand variety has 11.8 g/100 g sugars and lists sugar as the second item in the ingredients list.
