Because both SHAZAM (Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury) and AWK (Aho ,Weinberger, Kernighan) are acronyms of names!. Hahaha. Ha.

Stop saying 'script'. Stop saying 'line-noise'.
We have nothing to lose but our metaphors.

    <Geek alert>

    You're partially correct. The word given by the Wizard Shazam to Billy Batson was the acronym SHAZAM. The name and the acronym are two different things.

    On the other hand, you get major kudos from me for remembering the gods that make up the acronym.

    Now, for a follow-up, shall we recite the Green Lantern oath together?

        *Excellent*!

        Alfred Bester came up with both. He was guest of honor at a science fiction convention in NYC, and during a speech he mentioned that. He then added "But I can't remember the damn thing at all!"

        "In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship Evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern's light!" I rattled off.

        "Oh God." he moaned... 8-)
