I'd like to see at least two things. The first is a WWII style poster, with a lantern-jawed hacker looking off into the distance while bombers fly overhead. He's wearing sensible overalls and a hard hat, and he has the Camel in his hand. It's rendered in the simple, yet strong strokes like you'll see on Active State logos.

The caption says, "Perl Monks want YOU to use strict and -w."

For the second, just something nice that says 'PSI::ESP' on it. A nice sticker would be okay.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

    chromatic, that's a really good idea! So good that I gave a stab at it.
    It's still a work in progress (I did it in one hour, just a rough sketch), but you can have a peek here.
    I mostly need to detail the guy a bit more and find a better way to draw the planes...

    Comments are more than welcome!

    Update: An improved version is available here. It still needs some polishing, but at least, there's the Camel.

    YAPU: Yet Another Poster Update here

    my $OeufMayo = new PerlMonger::Paris({http => 'paris.mongueurs.net'});</kbd>

      Great idea and great picture!

      Does any-one else round here remember Biggles? I never thought I would be posting about him here :) For the uninitiated Biggles was a fictional WWI pilot in stories by Capt WE Johns. To bring it back to perl when Biggles was in 266 squadron flew a Sopwith Camel! And to bring it back to the monastery, by some kind of weird pattern matching I have always thought of Sopwith when I have seen the SOPW around the monastery, could it be-

      Seeker of Perl Wisdom in Transcendent Hack

      ++ to any-one who can tie all this together in a piece of monastery wear :)

      Coming back to the real world now :) I also think the picture desrves a camel somewhere and I thought that the "Programming Republic of Perl" logo as a patch on the pilots bomber jacket would be perfect. (I know it's not strictly monastery wear but I would buy a jacket like that :)

      my $chainsaw = 'Perl';

      OeufMayo, you just totally blew my mind. :-)
      Where's the camel, though?

      If you're going the poster route, I think a camel-headed monk (maybe based on Sean?) could be good. Probably a joke that requires more development time, though.

    Good idea

    We need whole line of cube decorations.

    my $name = 'Ben Kittrell'; $name=~s/^(.+)\s(.).+$/\L$1$2/g; my $nick = 'tha' . $name . 'sta';

    You could also do a poster with a Betty Page style dominatrix with use strict as the text. ;-)
