What is your preferred method of suicide? ( Sorry, a bit depressed today) :-(

I'm not really a human, but I play one on earth Remember How Lucky You Are

    Hey, zentara, cheer up!

    Here are some possible answers for your poll:

    • die;
    • die "with a blast";
    • die die;
    • exit;
    • no_such_method();
    • use SOAP::Lite;
    • warn die;
    • die warn;
      cog,
      • *new = *DESTROY; # The cycle of life in 1 easy step
      • END { undef sin(); } # Purge all sin in the end
      • sleep; # go to sleep and never wake up
      • kill $$; # generic suicide

      Ok, this is more poetry than poll but I am sure one could come up with other fun ones using the functions. Here are some ideas:

      Cheers - L~R

        • bind # enslave
        • chop # Execute by guillotine or axe
        • chomp # <super>1</super> masticate; <super>2</super> bite
        • goto # real men don't ask directions
        • hex # cast a spell (generally, evil) upon
        • unpack # action undertaken upon return from a trip
        • split # <super>1</super> depart; <super>2</super> terminate a state of matrimony
        • study # to read perldoc perlfunc
        • shift # Change gears. Obsolete as applied to manual (obs.) transmissions
        • chroot # see "cheroot"
      kill KILL => $$

    looks like my poll idea has generated alot of interest. How about
    system( "cat $0 > /dev/null");

    I'm not really a human, but I play one on earth Remember How Lucky You Are

      Eh, no. Useless use of cat.

      system "cat /dev/null > $0" or exec $0; die or die; # just to be sure

    Another important question is what do you want done with your body after your dead?

    I've always wanted mine to be actually blown-up in a hollywood movie. One that's not a bomb (sorry), has a good plot, and lots of action. Obviously, a James Bond movie would be the ultimate!

    Just think - immortalized forever on celluloid without ever having to take an acting class!

      what do you want done with your body after your dead?

      I want it to be revived.

        After reading about the eternal ascent society I feel a bit left out. I mean, what about all the rest of us that don't make the cut for heaven. We still want to get a jump on the afterlife too!

        I'm thinking of marketing a sister service using a special (patented) lead-weighted cement descent chamber (probably with more colors than just blue, red, yellow, and green), where a loved-one can get the jump on a non-heaven version of the afterlife, from a ship or plane, over the water, or your local volcano.

        Please contact me soon, if you are interested in a franchise - the best markets will be going fast...

        -Craig

      These days your corpse would just be digitally remastered and blown up in fully animated glory. Meanwhile your actual corpse would be stuck in the oven, and the ashes would be dumped in the trash bin behind the sound stage.

      If found in time and in good condition, anything other than taking it apart for spare parts is selfish.
