I'm not in a place where I can test or prove this but could you use a union statement

select where uid = <value>
union
select where uid != <value>

Unfortunately DBIC doesn't seem to support UNION natively either. Looks like I'll have to use Arbitrary_SQL_through_a_custom_ResultSource	[reply]
