Well, the server is (mostly) configured, and a few folks have accounts.

Still haven't settled on a "real" domain yet, and am looking for some useful suggestions (perlhunks.com is out). I still like perlskunks.com, but it hardly sounds professional if you wanted to point some one to it as an example of your work. Something tasteful might be nice. Someone wishing to remain anonymous has perlmonk.org and perlmonk.com, which I really like. I'm planning on seeing if s/he'd like to loan/donate/sell it.

We're running FreeBSD 4.3, on a AMD K6-III/450, with 192MB of RAM, a 13GB drive (about 10GB of user space), all on a blinding 144kpbs IDSL line. It's pretty usable, and if it all this goes over well, I may consider replacing it with a 800Mhz Athlon with 256MB of memory (and ugrade my primary workstation to a 1.3Ghz Athlon, with 768MB memory. Yea!)

Access is via SSH2, only. Apache 1.3.19 is installed, along with mod_perl 1.25, mySQL 3.23.36, and PHP 4.04p1 (no gripes, I like PHP, and it'll give some folks a playground for an *objective* comparison). emacs, vi, pico and nano are available, as are pine and elm. The default shell is 'bash'. Perl modules and other software are being installed on an "as-needed" basis (as opposed to grabbing all of CPAN and installing it).

Once we get the real domain, I plan on adding POP3 support, and probably mail relaying. Since I don't know what the heck I'm doing, I'm sure there will be a learning curve where I screw everything up...

If you are interested in an account, please EMAIL me (not /MSG) at jcwren@jcwren.com and supply me with your perlmonks user name, and a email address. I'll send back password and login details. If you are one of those people with screwy characters in your name (j.a.p.h. and $CBAS_or_die), we'll have to figure out what to do about your kind. Access is yourname.pm.tinymicros.com and pm.tinymicros.com/~yourname.

That's about everything I can think of at the moment. Any question, please e-mail me at the above address.
