astroboy has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi all

Does anyone know where DBD::SQLRelay has disappeared to? It's not on CPAN, although I've found a nine-yr old version Backpan...

Look again: version 0.1 is on CPAN (U. of Winnipeg repository): DBD::SQLRelay

    CountZero

A program should be light and agile, its subroutines connected like a string of pearls. The spirit and intent of the program should be retained throughout. There should be neither too little or too much, neither needless loops nor useless variables, neither lack of structure nor overwhelming rigidity." - The Tao of Programming, 4.1 - Geoffrey James

Right, my bad - it's on CPAN, but not http://search.cpan.org. Any idea why?

According to the project page on Source Forge, the DBD module is part of the down-load.To quote the Fine Article:
The SQL Relay client API's support advanced database operations such a +s bind variables, multi-row fetches, client-side result set caching a +nd suspended transactions. SQL Relay has native client API's for the +following languages: * C * C++ * Perl * Python * PHP * Ruby * Java * TCL * Zope SQL Relay provides drivers for the following database abstraction laye +rs: * Perl DBD * Python DB * Ruby DBD * PHP Pear DB <snippage> For questions about SQL Relay or other firstworks projects please mess +age: dmuse@firstworks.com.

The DBD module isn't part of the SQLRelay distribution, but as per my message above, it is on cpan, just not on search.cpan.org.
