in reply to classes on the web
in thread I've had my current job for

I am not speaking for everyone here or that has asked you about this.

What I was referring to was something like what NCSU (North Carolina State University) does. So the college has classes. You can take intro to C++ (CSC 114). You can go to class or take the online version. Basically the online version allows you to take the course and get credit for it via the web. You get your assignments via the web and submit your hw via the web. The only thing you have to show up for physically are the test (2) and the final.

The reason I said this comment was becuase it is easy to take a class in another state via the web. Our school has lots of people that do that. The only problem is the lack of courses offered this way. It is hard for me to go to a conference in San Diego or to do a cruise but a course via the web is easier/cheapier (in some instances). College courses are ussually accepted towards a degree of some kind also.

I personally own a few books (including "The Llama Book"), but taking the class I feel would be more interactive and educational. There are more reasons and explanations but I don't want this to get to long... if you want more or this does not explain it let me know...
