Strange error in using CPAN: AUGMAKE meta target -- SOLVED (kind of)by CountZero (Bishop) |

CountZero has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
My dear Brothers and Sisters in Perl, I was updating my Perl installation, when I encountered the following error in CPAN: Writing Makefile for Text::CSV_XSI had similar errors when upgrading Moose and Class::MOP Not being conversant with the arcane internals of make, I am at a loss how to solve this problem. I am using ActiveState Perl 5.10.1 and dmake.exe as the make-tool. OS is Windows XP Pro. I'm quite sure I have done upgrades of all these modules before without any problems. Update: I tried all your suggestions, updated everything to the latest and the greatest and still the same problem remained. Then I noticed that the buffer for previous commands in cpan no longer worked and that ANSI-codes in the CLI were not working either. So something is definitetly hosed in my Perl-installation. I have re-installed my Activestate Perl and now it works again. Thanks all for your assistance! CountZero A program should be light and agile, its subroutines connected like a string of pearls. The spirit and intent of the program should be retained throughout. There should be neither too little or too much, neither needless loops nor useless variables, neither lack of structure nor overwhelming rigidity." - The Tao of Programming, 4.1 - Geoffrey James
