site documentation wishlist

i'd like to see a wishlist of things we'd like documented, so that those wonderful people who have been assimilated into the Site documentation clan never run out of ideas. not that they do, i suspect, but it would also provide a method of feedback that, if properly implemented, could prevent some things from being requested eighty nine thousand times. also, it could include prioritization functionality so that users have some idea what might get documented soon versus what's never going to manage to get written up.

i'd also suggest a SDC recruitment center ("Congratulations! If your name appears on this list, you've volunteered to work for us!"), but i'm afraid i know someone who'd be on it as soon as he had enough experience, and frankly, perlmonks has already sucked out too much of my brain.

    I was wondering what this goo was...

    Though I find the more I put into perlmonks, the more I get out. Speaking of, back to work...

    Well, I did some more poking around. I realized that Super Search might be able to do one of the things i wanted to do; one of the things i want is a more complete list of site documentation, all in one place. So i tried a Super Search for author "Site Documentation Clan" -- but this turned up an error ("Couldn't find any author by the name of Site Documentation Clan") and no decent results. Now i have a two-fold specific wishitem: make searching for author Site Documentation Clan work, and/or compile such a list to be its own node.

    .
      Reasonably comprehensive lists of site docs exist here and here.   There may be others, but those are two I'm aware of.   Of course there's also the (official?) Site Changelog.

      An un-named yet extremely patient monk is reported to have gone so far as to visit *every* node that existed when he first joined the monastery, starting with "1" and moving up.   The number of Monastery nodes has roughly quadrupled since then, so would be an even more daunting task now.   No, it wasn't me {grin}
