Have you tried asking advice on the WxPerl mailing list? The Wx devs are very smart and helpful bunch.

    I didn't know there was a mailing list. I guess I should try that, but I always feel bad bugging people for help. Hopefully they'll understand that I will update this monster post with their knowledge if they give me some help with my issues :)
