Chatterbox layout...

Hey vroom,

The chatterbox kicks ass. Nough said about that, but wouldn't it be a good idea to stick it somewhere where it gets more attention if you have a message waiting for you?

Either that, or do a <body onload="javascript: alert('You got mail!');">or something? I've noticed it's pretty hard to keep track of messages as they come in.

Would other people find the javascript idea annoying?

How about having it float to the top like the XP nodelet if you have a message waiting. Or perhaps change the box a differnet color (depending on your current theme) Javascript would be a complete waste on me too, however, as I never have turned on either.

I'm not a fan of the javascript option either, but I do think it would be nice to be able to reorder the slashboxes? to be able to put the chatterbox at the top.
Or maybe I am just too used to slashdot.
If you turn off all of your nodelets in the user settings page and then turn them on one at a time (turn one more on... and click submit), they should be ordered in the order you added them(first one on top under XP, last one at the bottom).

        Oh St. vroom.

Does it make any sense giving you XP's for your hints?

        Thanks!
That sounds like a lot of work for all of us, and not so much for you :) Surely little up/down arrows on the boxes would not be so hard? Think of the total man-hours saved.

Okie dokie... Since everybody and my Mom seem to have javascript disabled, maybe that wasn't a good idea after all, but putting it up there with the XP nodelet might be a good call...(and perhaps changing the color).
