If you control, or can influence the process that uploads the file, have it append the filesize to the name. Then testing for upload completion before download becomes trivial. Ie. mydatafile.tar.gz becomes mydatafile.tar.gz.123456789 Examine what is said, not who speaks -- Silence betokens consent -- Love the truth but pardon error.
