Know thy community

Hi, I´ve been on perlmonks now for 6 days and am thus a newbie. Have to admit, that I didn´t like the "community-thingie" that much, because I always had the impression (prejudice), that members of communities use it too much as a replacement for missing real relationships. I know .. I know...

Saying that, I now really have to admit, that I like this one. Not only one gets *tons* of useful informations, there is also a feeling of - mostly - really monastery-like athmosphere. Peace and composure. (Ok - I´ve read the posts about downvoting, and all that bad feelings attached to it, but I think this problem will solve itself. See chaotic relaxation. :-)) All in all it is fun to contribute.

Maybe my wish is somewhat specific and most definitedly it is because of my management background... anyway: it is my belief that these features would help PM to generate "shareholder value" :-)

Yes, this is about statistics (I haven´t been able to find nodes with the following informations):

  • How many monks are there at PM
  • What´s the distribution like (levels)?
  • How´s the growth of members along the timeline?
    Same with *active* members.
  • Hows the server doing (load, webstats)
  • I even would like to know that "intimate" questions like offer plate statistics.
  • No - I wouldn´t like to abandon anonymity of the voting system ;-)
Consider this - brothers. Probably I will be pointed to some node(s) containing (some of) these informations, but even then - please bear with me - take it as feedback, that this information wasn´t found after about 20 hours reading spent on PM.

Good hacking and have fun

Ciao

    Well first of all, welcome...
jcwrens stats page is mentioned all over this place. As many things in the monestary, you'll bump into em sooner or later. Just browse around, participate in chatterbox moments and don't be afraid to ask good questions (or loose XP while trying :)) )

Welcome Brother FatVamp ... The knowledge you seek can be found at this page set up by kudra.

Update: My apologies - jcwren hosts the page and apparently did most of the code for it. Thanks tinman.
