hi Monks

what i was thinking is chatter box should not clear of messages atlest it should keep some recent ones(say 5)
guess someone goes to make a coffee and come back and misses out the conversation
or messages you have already read should be visible so that you can easily guess that the following message is in reponse to that xyz message
and what more can i ask for if we have option of "save the log" so that a perticular conversation would be inside ur inbox
ofcource it should have some line limit
what say???

      oh thanks for that quester
but dont you think that we should have some recent messages available there only
will we lose anything (bandwidth issue) if we do so?
it will be more user friendly
if someone is new to perlmonks then he/she requires efforts to do certain tasks like this.
please dont take it as i am againt this forum, i personally love this forum except for its user non-friendlyness at some places
some great monks says 'lazyness is the best way to learn perl' .

"but dont you think that we should have some recent messages available there only will we lose anything (bandwidth issue) if we do so?"

I'm not sure what you're suggesting, just keeping the most recent n messages displaed at all times? There are other methods for accesing the CB, see Other CB Clients which is directly under the 'talk' button for a list of alternatives. Cbstream: a chatterbox to irc bridge is a fairly popular method of accessing the CB I believe.

Perhaps adding the last hour of cb link in the bottom of the CB window would be sufficient?
