This isn't bullet proof. Some distros ship something called perl, without all of the perl core. If the app wasn't going to be published on cpan, hosting it somewhere and providing a cpanfile would provide a dependable route forward.

<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
