( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
  • Second Species Takeover (Planet of the Apes / Time Machine)
  • Ice Age (The Day After Tomorrow)
  • Asteroid / Bolides (Lucifer's Hammer / Seveneves)
  • Not all tech-failure worlds end up with a central Hunger-Games-style elite, so I think the following might be additional categories

  • Partial or Complete Technological Failure (The Quiet Earth / The City of Ember)
  • Decimated population (Post-snap MCU)
  • And the most horrific of all

  • A world where Perl doesn't exist or work
  • perldigious: Remember that when TPTB convert the poll quest idea to the actual poll, they don't always get the addenda from the quest's replies. Thus, I recommend editing the original node with any additional suggestions that you want to include. Also, you might want to include links for the ones you provided, like I did for mine. Spoiler allows for easy copy/paste of the ones so far:

edit: added the horrific perl-less world!

    Title:
    Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
    and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

    • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
    • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
      <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
    • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
    • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
