i am using the CPAN module to install mod_perl on a linux box that has
apache compiled from src rather than from a redhat rpm. when i run
cpan> install mod_perl all runs well, however, i get Can't locate object method "new" via package "URI::URL" (perhaps you forgot to load "URI::URL"?) at ../blib/lib/Apache/test.pm line 252. make: *** run_tests Error 255 /usr/bin/make test -- NOT OK Running make install make test had returned bad status, won't install without force however, when i check my URL.pm file, it seems to be in good shape and has "new" defined accurately. it also appears that URL.pm is up to date and current
cpan> install URI::URL any thoughts on how to see just why this isnt seeing the method from URL.pm? thanks -c In reply to Installing mod_perl complains about URI::URL missing method by c
