At this moment only 7% of the answers are some form of "Yes". Not that monks represent a huge proportion of the conference's public, or that even this poll has any statistical significance really, but...

Sure looks like a great excuse to lobby them to live stream the thing for us! All tracks, all talks, real time. Not only would it be a First, but it'd be more affordable, possibly interactive, and more.

Imagine if a company sent one person, then four others back at the office watched the tracks they were interested in, and used the person on site to pick up books, get autographs, etc. :)

And, wouldn't exhibitors like it if we could interact with booth staff?

'course, that's all just a pipe dream...

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
