As a recent convert to Perl from Ksh, I am looking for a
convenient equivalent to Ksh's "select" built-in.
Here's how David Korn describes "select" in his book: The items in "word ..." are displayed on stderr, each preceeded by a number. The user is prompted to make a choice. This is extremely handy for simple option selection in scripts that need to interact with people. Does Perl (or CPAN) have something equivalent? Edit kudra, 2002-08-02 Added 'style select menus in perl' to title In reply to Ksh style select menus in perl by Anonymous Monk
