Spend a few minutes figuring out, for instance, the ten shortest strings that it'll match
Here are the first 12
""
"0"
"00" "11"
"000" "101"
"0000" "1111" "1001" "1111"
"00000" "10101"
Bonus points if you notice a pattern in the set of strings that it matches....
All the strings are reversable?
(I'm assuming that anchors were implied.)

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
