While I can't comment on what technologies eweek and gamespot use, you need to remember that URL != filename (although it normally does). If your stuck in that metaphor, you may be able to use commas in your filenames - it all depends on what OS/filesystem you're using. With apache, you can use
modules like mod_rewrite (lighweight) or mod_perl (heavyweight in that you're able to do more that just URL manips) to obscure your URLs. You can also play games with PATH_INFO.
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
