I just recently installed Date::Manip on a Redhat Linux 8.0 machine with Perl 5.8.0. I used -MCPAN to install the module. It works well enough, meaning that it does the expected math however I get a TON of errors popping out complaining about syntax in the module
Malformed UTF-8 character (unexpected non-continuation byte 0x73, imme
+diately after start byte 0xea) at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/Date
+/Manip.pm line 6501.
Anyone else seen this type of behavior? or know of what the source of the problem is?
Thanks -c

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
