As some of the readers of Perl News,
I've been considering "shutting down" Perl News, directing users to
use Perl instead. All of the content
on Perl News is on use Perl, and we would make sure all of the mail gets
sent out to the mailing list as it is now, and we would still have a
stripped-down version of the web site for those that just want to read
the stories. This is just to make my life simpler and to make the news
dissemination process more effective. To find out more or to let your
opinion on this be known, hop on over to the article and poll on
use Perl.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
