Just for recreational curiosity. Data fetched from BigMonkMap and PerlMonks, as of 7/16/2003.
Only monks on the Map were included, so it's a self-selected sample, not a good
random sampling. Not sure if the statistics already available somewhere but here they are anyway.
- Region A: longitude180W - 30W, i.e. Americas, etc.
- Region B: longitude 30W - 60E, i.e. Europe, Africa, Middle East,
etc.
- Region C: longitude 60E - 180E, i.e. Asia, Oceania, etc.
You should be glad you don't miss out anything no matter where you live...
... you still get the same mature experienced monks (mature for programmers, that is, many of whom would probably have exhausted to death by 40).
Just for the fun of it. (Region C has too small a sample size.)

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
