Yeah... I think about this from time to time. I havn't been here as long as some people (node 9135 is my home) but I do remember posting things in the chatterbox like, "Wow 17 people are logged in" and having a short (3 min) conversation about that and then the box would fall silent again. Now the Monastery only gets below 17 users around dinner time and again around 3 am.

Here's another one: Remember when home nodes just had names on them. No buttons, no pictures, no poetry? Now look at them... poker games, random node buttons, chromatic feeders, and evil logouts.

Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
