First off, I just requested (and received even) a name change from Amel to dsb. The origins from of Amel come from the series of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. I was going thru a bit of a vampire phase I suppose you could say, and Amel was the name of the spirit/demon which first took possession of a human host when she was almost killed.
The change comes from a desire to keep a standard naming convention across all programming forums and sites and such. dsb are my initials - my name is Daniel Scott Balaban - or Dan if you please :). dsb is more indicative of me than Amel, as I am not the 5,000 year old father of all vampires. Are you surprised?
