PHP... okay, I can't think of anything nice to say about PHP.
I have a couple: The array syntax is easy, you don't generally have to think about references, and it kind of does named function parameters with default values. Arguably these are all places where it's evolved to be friendlier than Perl, especially for its userbase. There are probably a few others.
Just don't get me started on saying things about PHP which aren't nice.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
