It seems to me that the childish, impulse-challenged, or malevolent downvoters are unlikely to step forward and list their reasons. Methinks that you would hardly be satisfied by any reason they could give, e.g.
  • Your post SUX0RZ
  • You tree-huggers are all the same
  • You fascists are all the same
  • Your (sic) too big for your outlandishly large Nederlander britches
  • I'm hungry
  • My mother is very shrill
In conclusion, the truth behind downvoting is very likely banal and unsatisfying. I sympathize, but I don't think these pleas for answers will get anywhere with the people that offend you and others. Except to bring them glee as they see that their kicks have landed somewhere sensitive.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
