I should have been more specific. I was really only referring to most of the numeric date years. You couldn't 'look forward' to 1492, when the event that is most identified with that year could not have been known ahead of time. Ditto 1776 and 1941. You could make the case for 2001 and 2010, based on AC Clarke's books, though. Few people 'look forward' to the year they stop drinking before they finally make the decision, ditto the divorce option. Just picking nits... fnord

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
